Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high...

...Take a look, it's in a book - Reading Rainbow.

Here are some books im reading back and forth:

The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson:

This is a non-fiction book describing both the events leading up to the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition (aka Chicago World's Fair) and the serial killings by H.H. Holmes (America's 1st serial killer, pretty much).

So far, this book is really good and its winning as my favorite, though i enjoy the part about Holmes more so than the part about the fair construction. I have learned a lot though, i cant even imagine a fair like that one, nowadays.

We Thought You'd Be Prettier by Laurie Notaro:

Ok, so i haven't read much of this, but Katy said she likes the way Notaro writes, so i will believe her. I was just too excited about serial killing...

The Game by Neil Strauss:

Ok, so I’ve already read this book (in pdf version online) but I’m reading it again b/c i just recently became re-interested in the PUA community. That’s Pick-Up Artist, btw, as in men who actively practice picking up women and have created a community to discuss tips and strategies. Plenty of fun abbreviations in this book describing the author's rise from AFC (Average Frustrated Chump) to the reigning Pick Up Artist in the world (though he was actually dethroned last year). The reason why this book is so exciting is b/c before reading it a friend and I encountered a PUA in real life. I will discuss this more in a future blog post. but for those interested in reading his book (he’s actually a very fluid and engaging writer), you can d/l it here...

Once Again, I <3 Overheard in New York

seriously, i love this website. http://www.overheardinnewyork.com

Still More Accurate Than What They Teach at Public Schools

Professor hobo: Now listen, folks. You got them crazies preachin' the end of the world. They's saying God's gonna come and un-begat us all the way to Adam. I'm not like that. I'm not. Listen -- I'm not -- so listen, okay? Listen. See, I'm a man of science. No heavenly undoing here. There's a black hole comin' this way. Those niggas comin' at like a thousand light miles an hour. I don't need no wheelchair super-talk from my computer to know that. It'll come and it'll steal your children. Pull 'em from bed and rape 'em and eat 'em. That's what them black holes do. Eat you. You and your children. Science!

Tap Tap Tappin, Tappin That Ass

If you like pus-blistering mutants, explosions, blood, car chases, and the sweet satisfaction of vengeance, then go watch Grindhouse. I saw it with a big group of people. A couple got bored and went to get drinks during the 1st half, some even fell asleep, but a majority loved it, every one-liner, every dismemeberment. I sure did :)

Planet Terror was pretty good, if not slow at times. But it was kind of impossible not to fall in love with El Wray and Cherry Darling. Peg leg, cmon!

Originally i was pissed Fergie was in this, but it turns out she gets exactly what she deserves

Cherry Darling...she sure is

El Wray, he never misses

Death Proof was much more satisfying. The ending provided a much needed climax after hours of violent foreplay and theatrical fornication.

This is Stuntman Mike, not Stuntman Burt

This is Jungel Julia, shes boring but hot, so its cool...

I really enjoyed the 2 stuntwomen in Death Proof, including the apparently crappy actress/amazing stuntwomen Zoe Bell (uma thurmans stunt double in the Kill Bill movies):

tap tap tappin, tappin that ass

P.S.

IGN made a top 10 list of real grindhouse movies and i want to see them all starting with the #1 movie since its already on my external hardrive

Ninja New York

Fine Ninja Dining

Thank you Michelle for informing me of this. Ok, all my New York people (read: Lisa), go to this restaurant. It is built to resemble a ninja castle from feudal-era Japan. The waiters are ninjas...

this is their philosphy:

no but for serious...they want to IMPRESS you with NINJAs

Here is a video:
